3. HVN Line Alert

HVN

  • HVN stands for High Volume Node – a price level where heavy trading has occurred.

  • The indicator scans previous sessions to find such levels.

  • An alert is triggered when price approaches or crosses this HVN level.

  • These zones often act as strong support or resistance.

Sensitivity – What It Does?

  • The Sensitivity setting controls how strictly the HVN is detected.

  • A higher sensitivity means only very strong peaks in volume are considered HVNs.

  • A lower sensitivity allows more frequent HVN alerts, including moderate volume spikes.

Note:

  • For most users, the default sensitivity setting gives a good balance between accuracy and frequency of HVN alerts.

  • HVN (High Volume Node) is not always the highest volume bar in the profile.

  • Instead, the Bell VSA Pro uses a sensitivity-based peak detection logic. A price level is plotted as HVN only if its volume is a local peak.
